While in the back of my mind I knew the answers but I was so stunned that someone had never asked that before it took me a few moments to collect my thoughts. I want to break them down for you so that we all get a clear view of what Information Output does that most people would either not think of or not know about.
Design
First off we have the look of your site. Sure, there are template, web site builders and your brother's wife's second nephew but the big problem with all of them is that you're likely to end of with something second rate with no real thought to how the web site is going to make your company look to your customers. Even if you do it yourself through a builder you're only going to get the options the creators of that have given you.
We take into account how you want your customers to feel and navigate on your site. It's very important that you get this right. If you pull up a web site to spend $3,000 on some hardware and you can't stand how difficult it is to navigate what are the chances you're actually going to stick around and purchase from them?
The Backend
A lot of people just don't realize the code behind making a web site work properly. You have scripts for animation and dynamic queries, you have HTML for content, you have PHP for dynamic content from a database, you have CSS for styling everything on the site... Would you rather try to figure all that out on your own or would you just like to login change what you need and get out?
Our systems have one (That's right. One. Uno. Singular.) login for everything. You can login, edit anything almost exactly as you would a Word document. Login, make your change, apply, done. And along with that we do a video tutorial of your site (not some obscure site that doesn't fit your content) that you can always refer back to if you get stuck.
Adding Stuff Later
Your web site has been live for 3 months now. You realize that now you'd like to write a blog and keep it on your site. Here come the options... 1.) Create a new page, edit code by hand, upload to the server every time you make a change. 2.) Use a free service like Blogger that you now have to link to instead of hosting on your actual site. 3.) Install WordPress that requires you to know how to create databases, work with the installer and now you have to make sure that your server can even handle it.
Ready for another option? If we built your site you can be writing a blog on your site within a few minutes. Our systems are modular and we always have what our clients need available.
Local
Working with someone over phone and email is common practice these days. But when you're working with design and the image of your business do you really want to trust a voice over a handshake? We stay local. Oklahoma is where we are, where we want to be and where we're going to stay. Drop by our office. Go to lunch with us. We are literally here for you.
The Cost
You check out prices around the area for a simple 4 page web site. You look in Ardmore, Oklahoma City, maybe even do a little research into the Dallas area. You see a good price! Let's say it's: $1,500. They'll design your 4 page site, put it up live and you're done!
We all wish it could actually work like that. In actuality, with that you are paying for ONLY 4 pages. Most likely 'static' which means that to edit it you would have to download the file, edit it yourself then upload it and hope nothing goes wrong. If you want them to do it, get ready for the invoices.
We don't charge by the page. You can't in this stage of our technological evolution. We will setup whatever pages you want in the beginning then show you how to add your own! It's as easy as loggin in and pressing "New Article". We give you a video tutorial made just for you and your site showing you exactly how to work the back end so you'll never be lost.
In conclusion...
You will do what you want to do. Before you do it, however, give us a call. There aren't any costs until we have an agreement. We will discuss all of the above and anything else you need. If you do not end up as a client, we're still happy that you are better informed.
